RJC is currently partnering with a leading global hedge fund looking to hire a Quant Developer to join a Front Office Commodities Technology team in London. Working directly with traders, analysts and quantitative researchers on one of the firm's highest-performing trading desks, they are looking for an engineer to help build the analytics, research tooling and trading infrastructure that drives commercial performance.

The role requires an experienced engineer with a strong technical background, a proven track record of delivering complex systems and the ability to work directly with front-office stakeholders. You'll take ownership of business-critical technology, partner closely with traders and researchers, and play a key role in shaping the engineering strategy of the desk.

You'll be working on:

  • Building analytics platforms and internal research tooling for front-office users
  • Turning analyst and trader ideas into production-ready models and applications
  • Designing and owning data ingestion pipelines supporting trading workflows
  • Developing lightweight visualisation and internal tooling to enhance decision making
  • Partnering directly with traders, analysts, quants and engineers to deliver business-critical technology
  • Driving technical improvements and contributing to the long-term engineering strategy of the desk

The ideal Quant Developer will have:

  • 6+ years' commercial Python software engineering or quantitative development experience
  • Strong experience designing, owning and delivering complex production systems
  • Experience working directly with business users to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ownership, independence and end-to-end delivery experience
  • Previous experience in a front-office trading environment is preferred
  • Experience within commodities or wider financial markets is advantageous
  • A strong academic background and a genuine interest in financial markets

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the world's leading investment firms, working directly alongside a highly successful global trading desk with significant ownership, technical influence and exposure to front-office decision making.
