Middle Officer

Hiring: Middle Officer – Oil Trading | London

I’m currently working with a leading oil trading company in London that is looking to hire a Middle Officer to join its team.

This is a grea opportunity for someone with experience across commodities, energy or oil trading who wants to play a key role in supporting the trading desk and ensuring robust financial and operational controls.

The role will cover:

• P&L and valuation control
• Trade capture, validation and reconciliation
• Risk, exposure and position reporting
• Settlement and operational controls
• Working closely with traders, risk, finance and operations
• Investigating discrepancies and ensuring accurate and timely reporting

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a Middle Office, Product Control or similar role
• Strong understanding of traded commodities, ideally oil/energy
• Good knowledge of P&L, valuation, positions and risk
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with front-office stakeholders
