Endur - Finance Business Analyst – Commodities Trading
Location: London
Contract: Initial six months with high chance od extension

The role:

We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Analyst to work closely with Finance users and Technology teams, ensuring trading data is accurate, complete and usable across downstream Finance systems.

The key requirement is an understanding of the commodities trade lifecycle and how trade events, valuations, settlements and P&L translate into Finance and Accounting outcomes. You must be comfortable speaking the language of Finance users and translating their needs into clear data requirements and test scenarios.

Endur is the source of trade and valuation data, but most Finance users access this information through downstream applications, reports and feeds. Working knowledge of Openlink data is important; detailed Endur configuration or Accounting Desktop expertise is not required.

With most requirements, design and build already complete, the immediate focus is validating end-to-end data flows through system integration testing and supporting Finance users through UAT.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Accounting, Controlling, Credit, Tax and Treasury stakeholders to understand and validate their data and reporting needs.
  • Trace trade, valuation, P&L and settlement data from Endur through the data warehouse into downstream Finance applications.
  • Review data mappings, business rules and functional specifications to ensure they support accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyse and reconcile data, investigate discrepancies and work with developers to resolve defects.
  • Develop and execute SIT scenarios covering trade lifecycle events and their Finance impacts.
  • Support Finance users through UAT, defect resolution and business sign-off.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data definitions, validation rules and reconciliation processes.
  • Support go-live and subsequent improvements to Finance data and reporting.

Required experience

  • Strong Finance Business Analysis experience within commodities trading.
  • Understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle and its impact on accounting, valuations, accruals, realised/unrealised P&L and settlements.
  • Ability to analyse data flows, reconcile outputs and trace discrepancies back to their source.
  • Working knowledge of Endur/Openlink trade and valuation data.
  • Experience validating system integrations, reports or data feeds through SIT and UAT.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge Finance users and technical delivery teams.

Desirable experience

  • Openlink upgrade or reimplementation experience.
  • SQL for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with data warehouses, reporting platforms and Kafka-based data flows.
  • Exposure to power, gas, LNG, freight or emissions markets.
